CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES (6145.2)
These are activities that are extensions of classroom instruction required by law. See Educational Standards for New Mexico Schools or local board policy. Not more than five hours per week or 20 hours per month may be required for practice, meetings, events or performances outside the regular instructional day. Co-Curricular activities are required as part of the course work if a student is to receive credit for the course. Co-Curricular activities may not require a student to be absent from class other than for performances (School Reform Act of 1986). Examples: Vocational or fine arts club activities and/or field trips.
