St. Peter’s Primary are delighted to share the progress of their Lasallian Leavening Fund project which has been a huge success.
In recent years they opened a new Chapel space within the school, and since then, have been working to develop both the Chapel and the prayer areas it supports. The aim has been to provide children with meaningful opportunities to engage with prayer and liturgy, and they identified the need for additional resources to make this possible.
De La Salle College Junior School, Malta, created The Quiet Quarters project, supported by the Lasallian Leavening Fund, which set out to establish a dedicated space within the school where students could engage in mindfulness, reading, and reflection, while also launching a student-led farming club to promote sustainability and ecological awareness.
The Leavening Project is being used at St Margaret Ward to ensure that the 1719 Society has a training programme that will help pupils to complete their student leadership duties as well as they can, by promoting our Catholic, Lasallian values and being of service to others.
We also want the pupils to explore employer competencies as part of their training and therefore help them to develop soft skills wanted by employers in Stoke on Trent.
St Gregory's Catholic College have recently completed their Lasallian Leavening Fund project which involved answering the call to care for our common home at its heart.
The entire project was a response to the Holy Father's challenge to place a shared responsibility for our planet at the centre of our community and do what we can, where we are. Using the school grounds St Gregory's identified plots for both strands of the project - the wildflower garden and permanent fruit and vegetable growing area as a base for horticultural therapy.
The Educators at St Benild School used the Lasallian Leavening Fund to develop two separate projects.

Each of the six classes was responsible for four planters per class, and as a result, seedlings of cherry tomatoes, aubergines, red cabbage, sweet peppers, melon and watermelon have been sown in 24 planters in March 2025.
