De La Salle College Dundalk have made significant progress with their Lasallian Leavening Fund project in recent weeks.
The aim of painting school benches in vibrant colours has been boosted by the improved weather conditions which have allowed the Le Cheile Autism Class have started work on painting.
The first and second years prepared two benches and painted them a vibrant blue colour, while the technology department provided sanders and Mr Cumiskey will make stencils for our mottos.
The Leaving Certificate Applied religion class will also be involved where reverse integration will see them work alongside the Le Cheile class to paint the next two benches.
Beyond beautifying the campus, the initiative creates a lasting legacy of collaboration, care for creation, and commitment to social justice—strengthening both the school community and students' personal and spiritual development.
By engaging students in planning, implementing, and maintaining the improvements, it fosters a deep sense of ownership and responsibility. The project promotes sustainability through eco-friendly materials, aligns with Laudato Si', and cultivates leadership and practical skills among students.
