Community, creativity and a teamwork on Belfast project

As part of their Lasallian Leavening Fund project, students at De La Salle College Belfast got a masterclass in pizza‑making from Chef Quinn — who might not be Italian, but somehow managed to create a pizza that was 100% West Belfast, Lasallian‑approved!

The boys rolled, stretched, sauced and sprinkled like pros… and even tidied up afterwards. A full display of Lasallian values, skills, teamwork and graft.

While we waited for the pizzas to cook, we had a quiz with three mighty teams battling it out: The Lads, BT11, and The Green Team. Let’s just say the Men’s Shed showed Olympic‑level cheating — every one of them deserves a demerit for their attempts to overthrow the Quizmaster.

Plenty of craic, plenty of crumbs, and the project just keeps getting better. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

BIRD BOX DROP-OFF DAY

Our friends from the brilliant Colin Men’s Shed — led by the one and only Scap — called in to collect the bird boxes made by our KS4 pupils!

The boys were buzzing to hand them over and even more excited knowing their creations will soon be brightening up the local community and giving our wildlife a little helping hand.

A massive well done to our KS4 lads for their craftsmanship and kindness — and a big thank you to Scap and the Men’s Shed for continuing to inspire our boys with real‑world projects that make a difference.

Community, creativity, and a whole lot of teamwork… we love to see it!
