St Helens explores the meaning of peripheries through art

The Lasallian Leavening Fund project at De La Salle School St Helens helped explain to students the meaning of peripheries and how different people can experience being on the peripheries using the medium of art.

Into the Peripheries is an art retreat for people whose voices are too often unheard. It is a space for young people to listen deeply, to share their views of the world, their fears and their hopes. Together they explore injustice and turn concern into creative expression.

The artwork representing their views was shared at a local exhibition which amplified what really matters to young people.
