   Design and Optimization

There were three different iterations of biomimetic blade designs developed in CAD, and those included:

Design 1 : Serrated leading edges that are based on owl wing serrations to divide slow moving turbulent air into smaller vortices.

Design 2 : Perforated edges that are half-perforated and were inspired by porous feather surfaces which are smooth and efficient at streamlining airflow and noise reduction.

Design 3 : Minor angles which imitate the slant of the feathers that maximize airflow and reduce turbulence.
