Want to play college sports?

Creating an account is the first step to becoming a college student-athlete. Students interested in playing competitive collegiate level athletics should start preparing as early as 9th grade. Below are some resources to help you as you prepare to become a college athlete.

NCAA

  • NCAA Registration - Create a Profile Page if you plan to compete at a Division I or Division III school, or are not yet sure where you want to compete.

  • What core classes do we offer at Fairmont? - This list details the courses offered at Fairmont that are considered core courses by NCAA.

  • Initial Eligibility Brochure - guidance around Division I and Division II eligibility requirements for 9 - 12th grade students.

  • Calculate your core GPA and credit - This worksheet is provided to assist you in monitoring your progress in meeting NCAA initial-eligibility standards. The NCAA Eligibility Center will determine your academic status after you graduate. Remember to check your high school's list of NCAA-approved courses for the classes you have taken.

  • NCAA Division 1 Academic Requirements - College-bound student-athletes will need to meet the following academic requirements to practice, receive athletics scholarships, and/or compete during their first year.

  • NCAA Division 2 Academic Requirements - College-bound student-athletes first enrolling at an NCAA Division II school on or after Aug. 1, 2018, need to meet new academic rules to practice, compete and receive athletics scholarships during their first year.

NAIA

  • NAIA Registration - PlayNAIA.org is the official clearinghouse for NAIA eligibility. Every student-athlete must register with the NAIA Eligibility Center to play sports at an NAIA college or university.

  • NAIA Showcase - Do you want to play sports in college? The NAIA Showcases are one-day recruiting event where you display your athletic skills in front of NAIA coaches. There will also be opportunities for athletes and parents to connect with NAIA coaches.

  • NAIA Guide - Learn about requirements, eligibility, costs, and other resources specific to NAIA.
