About Fairmont High School

Fairmont is a four-year comprehensive campus type high school.  Every effort is made to make it function with the many advantages of a small school while at the same time have available the many areas of study that only a large high school can afford.  Of the seven connected buildings on campus, four are academic units, which furnish the core subjects.  Each unit has its own principal and counseling staff.  To supplement the basic portion of the student’s schedule, the three additional buildings supply the facilities for library, music, physical education and career education. 

Depending on the day, season, or time of the school year, we may follow different schedules. Below is a document that provides the different types of schedules we may follow at any given time. Be sure to pay attention to announcements, calamity day notifications, and emails for updates on which bell schedule we may be following. 

Welcome to the Clubs and Activities web page! Check in often for updated information. There are over thirty different organizations at Fairmont. They are outlined here.  We encourage all students to get involved in an organization or clubs while a student here at Fairmont.

Fairmont uses its handbook to convey a number of important pieces of information: our school mission, academic requirements, day-to-day school life expectations, drop off and pick up times, dress codes, and disciplinary policies, to name just a few.
