When using Seesaw, students will submit various activities and work projects. Quality student feedback on student work is a valuable part of learning.
In this tutorial, learn how to give feedback to student work. Seesaw allows for timely, personal feedback through the use of written and/or verbal comments.
Seesaw also allows students to submit drafts. Learn how to return feedback on drafts so that students are able to make changes before submitting their final product.
1. Depending upon what you'd like to leave feedback on, select the "Journal" or "Activities" tab.
If leaving feedback on a Journal entry, you may now skip to step 4.
2. Click on the title of the Activity you want to leave feedback on.
3. On the window that pops up, select the name of the student you want to leave feedback for.
4. The student's work will appear on the screen. Use the tools at the bottom of the student work to submit feedback.
Use the heart symbol, just as you would a "like" button on a social media platform.
Use the "comment" button to leave a publicly view-able comment on the student entry.
Use the private note button (a speech bubble with a "T" inside) to leave a comment view-able only to that student.
5. If leaving feedback on an activity, click the "Approve", "Send Back", or "Delete" buttons to confirm your feedback.
The "Approve" button approves the assignment and marks it complete.
The "Send Back" button returns the activity to the student for revision, with your comments.
The "Delete" button removes the student's entry entirely.
NOTE: This step is not necessary for Journal entries, if they have already been approved. (See: Tutorial 7 - Journals vs. Activities)
