Students in grades K-2 all have been given access to an ACPS iPad.
If you have picked up one of these iPads for your child, you may be wondering what is included on this iPad, as well as what can be installed.
The iPad has come pre-loaded with apps that do not require the internet. Additional which require internet (including the Seesaw Family and Class Apps) are available in the self-service app for download.
The Apple App Store and Safari are not available on the ACPS iPads.
This document compiles an array of apps which students will be using, such as Zoom and ST Math. If you need support with using these resources, please look to this document first.
Scroll through the document below for the full list. Please note that, due to filtering restrictions, there is currently no web browser available.
The process for adding Apps to the ACPS iPads is different than the process you would use to add apps to your personal iOS device. ACPS uses a Mobile Device Management System for installing apps that removes the need for accounts associated with an app store. Apps can only be added by using the Self Service App on the iPads.
1. Open the iPad by double pressing the Home button. The Home button is the circle that can be depressed on the iPad.
2. Find the Self-Service app by swiping left or right on the iPad screen. The Self-Service app is white with a yellow-green-blue-red design. Touch the Self-Service app.
3. Swipe up and down to see all of the available, approved apps.
4. Click on the Install button to download and install an app. The Install button will disappear and a spinning circle will be displayed during the installation process.
5. The app is installed when a Reinstall button appears.
Note: Apps that already display a Reinstall button are installed on the iPad.
6. Single press the home button to close the Self-Service app.
7. Swipe left and right on the iPad to find the installed app. Touch the app to open it.
