On October 18, 2023, the annual "Fight Like a Patriot" volleyball Pink Game took place against Thomas Jefferson. This volleyball game was a fundraising event to help support the Ochsner Cancer Institute and the fight against cancer. JCCS has hosted this fundraiser for about 15 years. On Friday, October 3rd, 2023, John Curtis Christian School was recognized at the Ochsner Moonlight and Miracles Gala for their ongoing commitment to the Ochsner Cancer Institute . At the pink game, every volleyball player gave out a flower to a person who has been affected by cancer in any way or knows a person who has been affected in any way.
It is important to recognize the people receiving the flowers because it lets them know that we are there for them and support them through everything they are going through! "There is more to life than the academic side, athletic side, or the social side. It is to be involved in your community," says J.T. Curtis. The JCCS administration believes these fundraisers are a great opportunity to get kids involved in giving back. We need to realize how blessed we are and how quickly life can change.
