Helping the Community

Interact Club pulled together a fantastic evening of fun and games at the JCCS Trunk-or-Treat. It was held at John Curtis Christian Lower School on Sunday, October 22. Weeks of preparation went into planning and executing this exciting, spooky event. The woman behind the mask who coordinated Trunk-or-Treat is Mrs. Marisa Guillie, head of Interact Club. Our high schoolers volunteered to help set up, work games, facepaint, and clean up. The lower schoolers, dressed in their halloween costumes, played games and won lots of candy and prizes. “Volunteering helps the Curtis Community because it puts our school out there and helps the students learn responsibility,” states the president of Interact Club, Paisley Bodenheimer.
Interact Club also participates in many other events. Every Tuesday select members of Interact Club make a special appearance at the lower school to read to the Early Learning Center students. The little kids look forward to seeing the older kids from the high school each week. Interact Club also organized a Canned Food Drive this year, where people donated food for families in need during the Thanksgiving season. They collected hundreds of canned goods to give others a delightful Thanksgiving meal. After Thanksgiving, many people love to get into the Christmas spirit. John Curtis Interact Club does this by participating in the Toy Drive, where Interact Club collects presents and toys for the children and donates them to patients at Children's Hospital.
