Bible: 

Learning Targets: 

In the first week of Bible we'll open up discussion about our school theme "Kingdom Builders", go over expecations for the class, and begin our first Unit of Love God, Love Others. At the end of the week everyone will receive information about Unit 1: God's Good Story, Grace and Truth.

Friendzy: Will begin in September.

This week in math we will start with an intro to the class, learning the layout and direction of the materials we will learn this year. We will begin with our first unit in Chapter 1, single-step and multi-step equations. Students will learn the definitions of a variable, solution, and equation.

Algebra:

Targets: 

This week in algebra,  we will discuss in depth what it looks like to be taking an advanced-level math course. We will discuss expectations and the year ahead, as well as requirements for the class. We will begin our first lesson, learning about single and multi-step equations. Students will be familiar with the terms variable, inverse operation, equivalent equations, solution, and linear equations.

Language Arts: 

Targets: This week we will begin learning the conventions and etiquette of writing emails. We will discuss how to maintain a professional tone and how to craft emails in a way that prioritizes respect and clear communication.

Learning Targets: 

In the first week of science we will start with Scripture to see how God has authority over all creation. Then we will begin going over lab safety procedures and our first unit about particle models for matter.

Social Studies: This week we will begin American History by looking at the three different cultures (Native American, European, and West African) that are about to come together in what will be the United States.
