This week in Language Arts, we will lay the foundation for a successful school year by establishing classroom routines, behaviors, and expectations. On Friday, we will begin preparing for our first classroom novel of the year, Inside Out & Back Again. Students will explore literary devices commonly found in poetry, including figurative language, repetition, word choice, and imagery.

In the first week of Bible, we'll open up discussion about our school theme, "Kingdom Builders", go over expectations for the class, and participate in a Friendzy activity.

This week in science, we will begin our first unit on Gravity and Kinetic Energy. After introducing the class at the start of the week, we will do some exploration with speed tracks, identifying the variables needed to track speed and what factors can affect speed. We will collect data and record observations based on our findings.

For our first week of math we will be discussing daily routines, reading the book "Math Curse", and diving into Scripture about how God is the creator of mathematics. At the end of the week everyone will recieve our Unit 1 learning targets, homework, and schedule.
