Bible

What we're learning & doing in class: This week we will explore the significance of standing stones and how they were used in the Bible. We will also look at how we can be a part of God's story as living stones today.

Math

Learning Targets: We will be reviewing math concepts from last year and then discussing fractions.

Science

Learning Targets: This week we will learn to start to think like a Scientist... focusing on observation and gathering information to inform our knowledge.

Social Studies

Learning Targets: Welcome back! This week we will be introducing what it means to study history and dive into Native Americans.

Project:

Language Arts

Reading/Writing: This week, we will begin our shared reading unit on the book Dash, a story about a young Japanese American girl named Mitsi living who is sent to an internment camp during WWII and is separated from her dog, Dash. This story explores themes of prejudice and resilience, which we will discuss as we read the book together.

Band/Music

Band: Parent Meeting on Tuesday at 6:30pm in the band room. We will go over important Middle School information as well as information on what to expect from band this year!

First day with band instruments will be on Wednesday!
