The students in the 3rd grade’s primary goal is to educate the school community on severe weather that can happen in their area. Students will need to give ideas and procedures that can help keep people safe. Students will take on the role as a weather reporter and study patterns of weather that happen at different times of year. They will make predictions about weather that might happen in the future. It is important for them to share this information with the people living in their region so they also know what kinds of weather are possible and how they can stay safe if bad weather happens.
Students will learn how producers, consumers, and decomposers have their needs met and how they impact the environment. They will understand how and why producers and consumers interact. Furthermore, they will understand the importance of a working ecosystem.
Students will create a beautiful new park in their community that will feature plenty of space and includes a working ecosystem where producers, consumers, and decomposers will work together as a food chain.
