Eighth Grade Key Understandings

Math- Students will apply knowledge of the properties of integer exponents to generate equivalent numerical expressions and show their understanding of the connections between proportional relationships when completing the recipe cards for their customers. Students will demonstrate their understanding of the properties of rotations, reflections, and translations when completing the logos for their business.

ELA- Students will evaluate content presented in diverse media and formats, including visually and quantitatively, as well as in words by evaluating articles and graphs of information they need and cite the textual evidence in order to determine the right foods & how to execute their business.

SS- Students will analyze the government's responsibility in helping areas in need and interpret how they can request funding for their project.

Science- Students will be able to take their local ecosystems into account in order to provide food for their community.
