STEAM Integration

Engineering: Follow the steps of the engineering process: set the stage, explore the background, do the research, design process and product creation 

Art: create and design a new classroom space 

Math: Draw a diagram that represents how the furniture will be arranged in this new classroom, including labels that explain dimensions of furniture and measuring distances between items.

Science:  Background knowledge on germs; play a Kahoot game on Germs and BrainPop video 

Technology: Remote-based project 

STEAM is integrated into this project because students will use computers to research local parks in their communities. Students will illustrate and label their playground design and learn about the importance of a working ecosystem. They will explore various parts of the ecosystem in their community. Also, students will determine the measurements of their playground by researching playgrounds in Jersey City.
