FRIDAY 10TH OCTOBER 2025
Congratulations to all the Year 6 students who took part in the Swim Gala this week. It was an amazing event, and the students had a great time competing against each other and earning points for their house. Gajah swam out as clear winners in Year 6, but a huge well done to all the students. A big thank you to Miss Sarah in the Swim Team for organising the event and to all the parents who took the time to come along and cheer on the children.
Excitement has grown as Pink Day has approached, and today has seen so many wonderful activities, including the marvelous PTA Pink Day Sale and the Cake Sale. Our deepest thanks to Ai Leng, Sun, and our Parent Reps who have worked so hard to prepare these and decorate the canteen. The school was a riot of pink all day!
This week, the students have begun a new Poetry unit in English, which will build them towards writing free verse about menacing natural phenomena. They are already fully immersed in the language and structure of the model text, and we look forward to seeing what they produce at the end of the unit.
In Humanities, the students have been learning about climate and ecosystems in Malaysia, and will continue this work as their homework over the weekend.
In Science, we have been building periscopes. This activity has taken collaboration and attention to detail, due to the exacting nature of lining up two mirrors to reflect the light. The students will complete these next week, and we will ensure that plenty of photos are available to showcase their work.
Wishing you all a peaceful and relaxing weekend with your families.
Mr Duncan and the Year 6 Team
