Basic requirements:
Minimum ABE Beginning Basic (intermediate ESL) level of English proficiency, AND
Needs to pass the Basic Computer Skills test.
*Priority at registration is given to the current Metro South students.

Most of the schools and employers in the US require people to use computers every day. Knowing how to use the computers is extremely important for people who want to find better jobs or to continue studying. Sending emails is still the preferred mode of communication at work. Texting is usually not considered appropriate or professional.
It also prepares you to take a Northstar test which is necessary to be able to take the Email and Internet Basics class.
Learn how to use internet safely and efficiently. Practice writing emails, understand the difference between reply, reply all, forward, CC, BCC and how to format an email to sound professional. Feel comfortable when writing to your teachers and to communicate with your children's school. Learn how to upload and send an attachment. and prepare to pass the Northstar certification, and how to use those tools to create resumes, presentations and improve your communication skills.
