Technology Proficiencies at ISB

The International School of Belgrade is a Google Apps for Education Institution and provides staff access to the Google Suite of tools. Having a basic proficiency in using these applications is an essential component of what it means to be an expert teacher at ISB.  As of August 2021, all teachers are required to be a Google Certified Level 1 Educator. The Level 1 certification will help teachers gain a greater understanding and confidence in the classroom through the basic knowledge of implementing the different tools in their learning and teaching. 

The Google Certified Educator program consists of 4 levels and begins with the Level 1 certification. Teachers can continue on to achieve their Level 2 certification and eventually become a Certified Trainer and Innovator. All programs can be accessed through the Google Education Teacher Center.  

The Google Certified Educator Course is the best way to learn the basics of using Google Workspace. The total time to complete the fundamental training is approximately 12 hours. Google provides teachers writing 3 hours to complete the exam. The open-book test means you can consult the app in question while writing the exam. Here is a slide presentation that provides teachers with active learning to compliment the fundamental training.
