In our Learning Definition, we believe that everyone is responsible for their own learning. It is a constructivist model in which each learner constructs new learning by discovering new information and adding it to existing understandings to create new understandings. The role of the teacher is to co-construct understanding with the student.
This should never be a passive process in which learning is ‘done at the learner’. Instead, it is an active process, where the learner owns and leads their own learning.
This applies to everyone, students, teachers and parents.
