Assessment is an integral part of any curriculum. ISB is an IB World School and is accredited by NEASC. As such, we see all three types of assessment, each with its own purpose.
Assessment measures the effect of learning on the learner. Assessment for, of and as learning includes qualitative as well as quantitative criteria.

For assessment OF learning to have an impact, it must give immediate, in the moment, feedback designed to cause immediate reflection on the part of the learner. Hattie’s research shows that marking books has little or no impact on learning. It is far more impactful to use this time to sit with each individual student and give them direct feedback.
