At ISB we understand learning to be a life-long process, rather than a final destination. Fundamentally, the process of learning is developing or modifying understanding. We also consider the process of learning to involve the acquisition of skills, attributes, behaviours and knowledge.
The process of learning is cyclical.
1. Gathering information (sensory cortex) and making meaning of information (back integrative cortex).
2. Creating new ideas from these meanings, (front integrative cortex).
3. Acting on those ideas (motor cortex) to put them in context.
4. This becomes our new understanding.
