WP2: Property characterisation of QAHE material films and devices

The aim of this work package is twofold: 

(i) provide deeper insight into established magnetically doped topological insulator for QAHE;

(ii) lay the foundation for new class of resistance metrology relevant topologically active novel QAHE materials (V-BST, Kagome and BST on magnetic insulators). 

Both established and novel QAHE material films and their devices will be characterised here. This WP focus on investigating the electronic, structural, magnetic, and magneto-transport properties of QAHE material films and devices fabricated in WP1. The outcome of tasks in this WP serves both as feedback to WP1 to make necessary improvements to device performance and to WP3 for precision metrology work.
