Spring Term 2023
This term, we have experimented with the Sphero and Lego Boost robot we won at the DVLA Code Challenge competition. We have also ordered some great new coding items for each class using the £1500 prize money we won at the event!
Class 5 have completed the First Lego League Class Challenge. A team has been selected to represent the school at the Pembrokeshire competition.

Autumn Term 2022
DVLA Code Challenge - Runners Up!
On the 6th December we travelled to Swansea to attend the DVLA Code Challenge event. We had a wonderful time trying out lots of activities and being inspired by the work of other young coders.
At the end of an exciting day, we were delighted to learn that our team of finalists had been awarded second place for their entry, winning an incredible £1500 for the school to use on IT equipment as well as some great techie prizes for themselves!
DVLA Code Challenge Success
A team from our Code Club have been selected as finalists in the DVLA Code Challenge competition.
The girls are in the final four teams in the primary category. We are travelling to Swansea on 6th December to support Tim YES 2.0 and discover where we have been placed!
We used Scratch to code games. Try some of the games we have created. We hope you enjoy trying them out!
In just two sessions, we learned how to use some basic blocks which would be useful to creating games. We then tinkered with our code, adding sound, using conditional statements and creating variables to add scoring and timer situations to our games.
We also learned how to create Sprites and costumes for our games using Adobe Express and 3DPaint.
We look forward to developing our skills even further - our next mission is coding Lego robots!
