Discussing our feelings: Both poems we’ve looked at this week discuss different colours and discuss the rainbow, which has become an important symbol for us all this year. Task: Look at the template below, which includes a number of language patterns for expressing our feelings.
Draw a picture of yourself happy, sad and excited. (If you have a camera on your laptop, maybe you could take pictures of yourself making different expressions and paste them on the piece of work.) If you’re working on line, you could always copy and paste pictures for each emotion. Answer the questions for each of the feelings. Remember to write in full sentences, with a capital letter at the beginning of each sentence and a full stop at the end.

The story is about a boy who loses his temper with the members of his family when things go wrong. He soon realises that feeling angry makes him feel worse and has to deal with this emotion. We all get angry at times and there are things that make us lose our temper. It is important that we recognise what triggers our anger and know what to do when we get angry.
Task - What makes me lose my temper? Draw an outline of a volcano on a piece of paper or use the template provided. Inside the volcano write down what makes you lose your temper and makes you angry? In the cloud note what you tend to do when you lose your temper? On the outside write down ways in which you can deal with the emotion.
