Hi there!  My name is Misty Oliver and this is my first year at Woodcreek Middle School as the media specialist.  I think I may have landed in the most amazing job ever because it combines my love of books and technology and allows me to share that passion for learning and innovation with teachers and students.  I worked previously as a Biology and related Life Sciences teacher and as a virtual course designer for different companies and clients for the past 11 years.  I hold a Bachelors and Masters degree in Secondary Education from the University of Indiana and graduated from MacArthur High School many years ago. :)

I have worked a lot of odd jobs in my life but by far the best experiences I have ever had have been helping students learn and grow .  Even though my classroom may look different now, I still believe that creating a warm and welcoming learning atmosphere is really important for anyone learning anything new- especially new technology.   In an effort to make learning accessible at any level, I strive to connect with teachers and students on a personal level and develop an authentic relationship so that they feel comfortable to take the next steps at trying new things and growing their knowledge  base and experiences.
