Year Two

Campus-Wide STEM Initiative

Building Timbers' STEM Culture, One Class at a Time!

Book Us!

We are now in Year 2 of our FLEX time initiative! We have built-in FLEX times in our weekly schedules where teachers can book us for hands-on learning experiences for their students. This can look like a planning session, modeling session, or a co-teach session. We would like to continue this project over the next few years to build a completely school-wide STEM culture, where teachers feel confident implementing ed-tech and projects in their daily classes!

Finding My Voice

One of the most exciting things about ASPIRE besides the growth at my own campus has been my gains in confidence in respect to public speaking. I have never had a problem speaking in front of children, but speaking in front of adults has always made me nervous. Through ASPIRE, I have found my voice and have really thrived in public speaking during staff development opportunities. I have even branched out beyond Humble ISD to present at Region 4 and I currently have two proposals that have been approved for ETC Galveston 2023! ASPIRE has really inspired me to share all of the fun and exciting things that are happening at Timbers so I can hopefully in turn inspire other teachers to find ways to incorporate engineering and STEM into their classes!

Ready to Try FLEX?

Make it work for your campus!

Using Google Calendar, teachers have been able to book us through our website! Take a look at an area of need on your campus! What staff can be available to try FLEX times? How can FLEX make a difference for your students, teachers, and campus? With a little creativity and FLEX-ibility, any campus can find little ways to make big changes!
