Summer Creek High School9th Grade Algebra 1

I have been teaching for 6 years and have taught mathematics from 7th to 9th grade. It is my passion to promote a classroom environment where students are communicating, engaged, and taking positive risks while working through rich mathematical tasks. I am committed to making my classroom a student-centered environment while allowing my students to see and understand that it is not always about getting the right answer, but the journey that they take while getting the answer. I also want my students to know that they too have a voice in my class and their voice also matters.

As a child I have always been infatuated with technology and wanting to learn new things.  I love integrating technology into lessons and exposing students to new technology and coding. In my class, students have voice and choice. Some of my favorite tools are Canva, PowerPoint, Spheros and Wheel of Names

Power Point - I love to use Power Point because it allows me to create my own activities that I can customize according to my students' needs.

Canva-Canva is my go to to create banners for Schoology and assignments for students.

Spheros- I love using Spheros because they allow me to introduce students to coding. Spheros are easy to use and I can easily connect the use of Spheros to Algebra 1 content.

Wheel of Names- I love using Wheel of Names inside of my classroom because it randomly selects students to do different activities and gives each student an equal opportunity to be called on.
