mproulx@humbleisd.net
I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I've taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade, 2 years of which I taught completely virtual and got lots of experience making lessons and content digitally accessible. I said goodbye to the daily Zoom lessons and now I love integrating technology into lessons for my 5th graders. It's an amazing way to create engaging content in the classroom and gives them practice with digital tools which help them with useful life skills. Technology not only makes planning easier and a more creative process for me, but my lessons are more fun to teach too!
Tech Tools I Love!
Google Classroom
Digital base to house materials and assignments in an organized way for your students to access independently in the classroom or even from home.
Jamboard
Think of this as your go-to digital Whiteboard with tools for writing, drawing, adding text, and even sticky notes for collaboration or individual work.
Kahoot
An engaging site for quizzing students on specific content. There are tons of already made quizzes by other teachers ready for use to instantly use or edit for your lessons.
Blooket
Similar to Kahoot, but students can compete with each other as the class is accessing whole group or try to make individual progress with questions as they work independently. There are also a variety of games to choose from while your quiz questions stay the same.
SlidesGo
Find tons of FREE, pre-made, themed slides to make a copy of and spice UP your digital lessons using Google Slides.
BrainPOP
Find engaging, content specific videos for your lessons that come with easy and hard quizzes to complete as a class and spark discussions.
ClassDojo
A great tool for classroom management and parent connection/ communication.
Wordwall.net
Pre-made games and activities to search through to use as community builders or even practice with specific content.
