Remote meetings are the primary mode of getting work done. Therefore we follow basic rules to improve our communication with partners and with each other. Please keep these in mind for all your meetings.
Partner meetings take precedence
If there is a conflict between a Howdy meeting and a partner meeting, the partner meeting takes precedence. Reschedule the Howdy meeting, not the partner meeting. Work with your partner to accommodate their schedules in the US.
Keep you camera on
We promise our partners that we always keep our cameras on during meetings, therefore we've invested in laptops with amazing cameras and microphones. Please take advantage of them.
Always be on time
In United States business culture, missing a meeting or being late to a meeting is a sign of disrespect. Please keep this in mind with partners. You are accountable for all the meetings on your Google calendar schedule, so please check your schedule regularly as new meetings will occasionally show up. If you know you are going to miss a meeting or you are going to be late, be sure to inform the meeting organizer at least a day before.
Account for the time difference
There may be a few hours difference between you and the partner. Emergencies may occur during work hours in the US, be ready to answer the occasional emergency phone call or email during off hours. You are expected to be as responsive as the partner's other team members in the US.
Don't multi-task in meetings
Not only is it rude and disrespectful to the meeting organizer, but it will cause you to miss something important! When you go to a meeting, be present in the meeting.
