Giving back,
one paw at a time

This April, Howdy is coming together across all of our offices to support something close to all of our hearts: local animal shelters. From Austin to Montevideo, Guadalajara to Bogotá, each of our teams will be partnering with organizations in their communities to provide supplies and support for animals waiting for their forever homes.

Philanthropy Month is one of our favorite moments of the year because it brings us together around something bigger than ourselves. It’s simple, tangible, and incredibly impactful.

How to Participate

There are many ways to participate depending on your location, but at the heart of this initiative is one shared goal: donating items that shelters need most.

Each office will share a featured list of recommended items, tailored to their local shelter. These often include essentials like food, treats, toys, blankets, and cleaning supplies. If you’re unsure what to bring, your local Community team will point you in the right direction.

All donations can be dropped off directly at your local Howdy office throughout the month of April, making it easy to contribute whenever it works best for you.

Why it Matters

Animal shelters everywhere rely on community support to continue their work. Whether it’s providing daily care, medical attention, or simply a safe place to land, these organizations make a real difference in the lives of animals, and they can’t do it alone.

This month is about showing up for those communities in a way that’s meaningful and collective. It’s about small actions adding up to something big.

A Little Something for You (and Your Pet)

There are a couple ways to participate, and each one gets your name entered into the premium swag raffle on collection day!

Donate to get a Pet Bandana

Of course, we couldn’t let you give without giving a little something back.

When you donate, you’ll receive a brand new Howdy pet bandana for your furry friend at home. If you have more than one pet, you’re welcome to request up to two bandanas... because we know love (and pets) multiply quickly.

Organize to get a Howdy T-shirt

If you’re looking to get even more involved, we’ll be organizing packing and delivery efforts at the end of the month.

Those who attend the final weekly lunch and help pack up or deliver the donated items will receive a brand new Howdy shirt as a thank-you for going above and beyond.

The Raffle

We’re not just handing out bandanas and shirts 👀 We’ll also be raffling off premium Howdy swag—think projectors, coolers, and more—to anyone who participates, whether you donate items or help with packing.

For every item you donate, you’ll receive one raffle entry for a chance to win premium Howdy swag. Donate 10 items? That’s 10 entries!

Please note: each donated package counts as one item, regardless of size. For example, a 40-pack of treats equals one entry.

To keep things simple for our admins (and our shelter partners), please don’t split bulk items into multiple entries.

Remote Participation

Our remote community is a big part of Philanthropy Month 🐾 No matter where you are, you can participate by donating to a local animal shelter or helping spread awareness for their work.

Anyone who shares proof of a donation or posts about a local shelter in the #remote channel will be entered into a raffle to win a gift card of your choice. And that’s not all—Howdy will also make a monetary donation on behalf of our remote community to a shelter selected later this month 💛
