The Sober Rides Project
Our Goals:
Our goal is to raise awareness for Drunk Driving and share information with the people within our community. We have noticed that this problem is not talked about enough in Wellness classes here at HHS. So, that is where we come in as we are seeking to share information with the students here to hopefully reduce the amount of crashes locally.
WHO WE ARE..
We are three juniors from Mrs. Mills Serive Learning class, we chose this class because we wanted to explore problems within our community and make a change. We chose to do the topic of drunk driving because there have been recent accidents in Holliston and wanted to raise more awareness to students at HHS.

Community Need:
Inform the community and inform people about Drunk Driving and share information with students. It is important to inform people how dangerous and how common this issue occurs so we can help stop the amount of crashes
Project Goals + Progress:
Our Goals Include:
Spreading awareness to students in our school by presenting a slideshow, and teaching students in Wellness classes to prevent crashes locally.
Progress:
We have come in contact with Officer Ciavarra, who is an Officer at our school who can help us with our project.
We have talked with Mr. Marsh who is a wellness teacher here at the high school about presenting the slideshow we created to some of the underclassman classes.
We have created posters that are around the school to raise awareness and inform students around the school.
You can check for updates on our Instagram which is listed below!
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD):
We have partnered with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, a non-profit organization in the United States, Canada and Brazil that seeks to stop drunk driving, support those affected by drunk driving, prevent underage drinking, and strive for stricter impaired driving policies, whether that impairment is caused by alcohol or any other.
How can the community help?
We can all come together to put a stop to drunk driving. Community members can help by coming to any fundraiser we hold and assisting us in raising money for this issue. People can also take part in spreading awareness on social media, and even around the school. Educating and spreading our information to friends and family to help prevent drunk driving in and around us could have a huge impact.

Shown above is us presenting our presentation to one of the Grade 10 classes!
Our presentation includes key information on important facts about this serious issue of drunk driving. Our main goal for this presentation was to educate the younger classes about the dangers of driving under the influence and that it is simply not worth doing because it can cost you your life.
Sharing Pins
We have created pins to share with students and teachers to promote our project and inform people about National Impaired Driving Month.
