Lesson 5-7 Launching the New Republic

This week's lesson will focus on three lessons from the unit Launching the Republic.  Students will participate in a Socratic Seminar and discuss one of the following essential questions: 1.  To what extent should the United States have become involved in world affairs in the early 1800s? 2What did it mean to be an American in the early 1800s? or 3. How well did Andrew Jackson grow democracy? The Socratic Seminar will take place on Thursday.  The homework can be found on the Webpage and RTI document.  Each day of the week we will focus on one of the essential questions with a different mini-lesson.  If students are not in class for the Socratic Seminar they will take a test on Lesson 5,6,and 7 focusing on the essential questions and Lesson 5 sec 4 and 6, Lesson 6 sec 3 and 5, and lesson 7 sec 6 and Reading further they Trail where they cried.
