Lesson 16- Reconstruction

Lesson 16- Reconstruction.  This lesson will focus on what happen after the Civil War.  Did the end of the war and the end of slavery lead to a peace based on liberty and justice for all? Did these events bring African Americans closer to the ideals of liberty and justice, including the rights of citizenship? In this lesson students will answer the essential question of "How was Reconstruction successful in bring the nation together?."  Also, during this week students will look at the 14th Amendment and show how the Supreme Court has ruled on the 14th Amendment throughout US history.  This 14th Amendment will be the main assignment for the week.  The test will be on Friday.
