Stacy Barnes

"This is my 15th year teaching at Hesperia High School. I graduated from Cal State University, San Bernardino with a B.A. in Liberal Studies; I also have an M.A. in Education: Instructional Technology.

Twenty-five years of experience working with diverse student populations in public schools, in the juvenile justice system, and in group homes has not only highlighted the white privilege I was born into, but drove home the absolute inequities facing students of color in our country. The fight for social justice in America is imperative. This is the message I want to pass on to my students.

I wanted us to join Mrs. Hobson's Black History Month event this year and in years to come because the work must continue. These young people are the future of our country and of the world. I'm always excited to witness their revelations and immerse myself in their unique perspectives. It's a pleasure to share their hard work with you.
