About the Project:

"My topic was on Breonna Taylor’s story and police brutality. Hundreds of black people are killed at the hands of officers who were meant to serve and protect, but instead failed and murdered those who were the ones who needed protection. 

I created a sculpture of Breonna Taylor to represent how she is not forgotten and how people will continue to fight for justice for her."

About the Creator:

"As a minor, I don’t really have a huge role in society. I’m more on the sidelines watching and observing what is happening. Being on the sidelines has allowed me to see the cruelty shown to black people from the police. 

Police continue to discriminate and show violence toward black people and it has got to stop. So many black people have been wrongly murdered by officers who’s only 'excuse' is that the person was 'violent' or that it was simply an 'accident.' No, the truth is that they are just racist and should not have the title or power that they do. The fact that the officers who murdered Breonna were not charged infuriated me, and that’s why I chose to do my project on Breonna’s story."
