COLLEGE COURSES

Tahquitz High School is partnered with Mt. San Jacinto College so that we can offer college courses to our students. These courses will give students both high school and college credit as long as classes are passed with a 'C' or better. There are two types of college courses that we offer, dual enrollment courses and MSJC Annex courses.

What is Dual Enrollment (DE)?

Dual Enrollment gives current high school students the opportunity to enroll in courses that award both college and high school credit and reduce costs of a college education for students and their families. The courses are academically challenging and taught by Tahquitz High School faculty members approved to teach the courses by MSJC.

What is Concurrent Enrollment (CE)?

Concurrent enrollment allows students to take MSJC college courses concurrently while they are enrolled at THS. In the 2020-21 school year, Hemet Unified partnered with MSJC to offer concurrent enrollment courses at the Tahquitz High School Annex, conveniently located on the Tahquitz High School campus.

*Due to distance learning all courses are being taught online and asynchronously.

Why Take Dual and/or Concurrent Enrollment Courses?

Dual and Concurrent Enrollment allow students to complete CSU/UC transferable classes while they are still in high school. These courses give students an affordable opportunity to challenge themselves academically and earn college credit.

The Process for all students to apply is the following:

  • All students must be matriculated (orientation, application, registration)

  • Submit a School-Parent Agreement form to the College and Career Counselor

  • Contact Daisy Figueroa, College & Career Counselor at dfigueroa@hemetusd.org

The student is responsible for completing the college registration process, which includes the completion of an application for admission, and completing an online orientation session. This process must be completed before THS staff meets with MSJC staff to register students in Dual Enrollment courses in May/June of each year.
