Start Up Mission

Assignments

During this mission, you will have to submit assignments on a weekly basis :

Week 1 : Due date Friday 20/09 at 7 PM : Opportunity Assessment Framework (Template here)
Week 2 : Due date Friday 27/09 à 7 PM : Map of the Adressable Market (Template App here) Please note that this assignment is a web application for which you'll get credentials.
Week 3 : Due date Friday 04/10 at 7 PM : Business Model Canvas (Template here)
Week 4 : Two assignments:
- Financial Projections : Due date Thursday 10/10 à 7 PM. It includes :
  - P&L, income Statement
  - Break even analysis
  - Monthly Cash Flow projections (the most important)
  - Funding Requirements (Hypothesis for funding the project)
- Expert Jury : 11/10 morning, first pitch in front of VCs and other financial experts.
  - 10 min pitch followed by 10 min questions
  - Jurys are composed of 3 to 8 VCs or financial experts.
  - You have to be consistent in your pitch : if you decide to raise funds in your pitch, this needs to be consistent with your business model and financial projections. Depending on projects, you may not necessarily need to raise funds.
Week 5 : Final Jury in front of entrepreneurs and alumni
- 10 min pitch followed by 10 min questions
- Jurys will be of a bigger size - there will be 6 to 20 people in every jury.
- Depending on Expert Jury results, you may need to improve you pitch or reconsider your Business Plan. Do not hesitate to have pitch rehearsals with your coachs during the week before the Final Jury.

For week 1 to 4 assignments, you will upload them on Moodle (see below).

Moodle

Moodle is an app in which you'll find two things :

Online courses : one per week for the first 4 week.
Assignments : you will be able to upload your assignment directly on Moodle.

Your mentor and entrepreneurs will have access to moodle. But to make things easy for them, please send them your assignments by email too.

Pitch Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear ?

Suits and tie or equivalent.

How long is the pitch ?

10 minutes pitch + 10 minutes of questions.

In what language should we pitch ?

For the VC Jury : English is strongly recommended unless you really have an issue pitching in English. It's a rare opportunity for you to practice pitching in English. If you're not planning on having the pitch in English, please let the administration know.

For the Final Jury : it's quite the opposite. Choose whatever fits you best, but if you choose English, please let the administration know, so that we can make sure your jury is only composed of English speaking persons.
