Memoir

What ?

The memoir is a 30 pages (at least) document (annexes not included and reasonable police size...). It should discuss a problem around your major subject : entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship is a wide enough subject for you to choose the subject that interest you. If you are creating a start up, we highly recommend you to choose a subject close to your company.

A mentor should help you on your memoir. It's your role to find her/him (you can ask the administration). The administration will validate the mentor. His role is to discuss the problem with you, help you structure your work. You should meet at least 3 times. He can also give you contacts that could help you for your memoir. Therefore, we encourage you to choose someone with sufficient experience in the field.

Planning

You should send the memoir to the administration on the 28th June. This imply the following retroplanning.

25/4 : Mentor and problem submitted to adminstration.

2/5 : Mentor and problem final validation by the administration.

19/6 : Memoir sent to mentor for final check and grading.

28/6 : Final memoir sent to administration with mentor's grade and comment.

FAQ

Can I do it with someone else ?

The memoire is only mandatory for HEC GE students. It can be done in teams of two persons maximum, and only if the two persons are partners in their start up.

• If the pair is one HEC GE and one MSc student, only the name of the HEC GE student will be on the memoir. It can still be interesting for the final work : the book (see question 3).
• If the pair is two HEC students, the memoir should be richer (at least 40 pages).

What language can I use for my memoir ?

It can be done in the language you’re most comfortable with (English or French)

Can I use my memoir for the book ?

We strongly advise you to use it. You can see the memoir as an intermediate deliverable for the book.

What about the scientific article ?

You give a scientific twist to your memoir if you want but the 30 pages format cannot be modified. It's the same rule for every HEC M2 students.
