From then the classes are over, you should start a professional experience. Here are the general information about this :

Duration

4 month, full-time at least

Format

It can be :

• An internship
• A full time job (CDD, CDI...)
• Starting your own company

Begin date

It can start right after the commencement ceremony in mid-june. Not before as you have ECTS credited class to attend before.

End date

It depends on your status :

• For external and Polytechnique students, the deadline to validate your internship is end of January.
• For HEC student (registered in the Master in Management), the end date is 15 of December.

⚠️For end of course* HEC students, the end date is end of August. As this conflicts with the 4 months constraint, every situation will be discussed individually.

Validation

Depending on the format, the validation differs :

• For internship, you need to have and internship agreement. The internship should end before the end date so don't start too late ! Otherwise your diplomation will be delayed by one year and fees will be applied.
• For full time job, you need to send us a copy of your contract. You should be 4 month into your job before the end date for the same reasons.
• For those creating their start up, you need to send the following documents to the administration before the end date :
  • Your KBIS
  • Your statuses
  • Some document justifying your 4 month work (website, business plan, letter of acceptance in incubators, bills, etc.)

Where do I get an internship agreement ?

Theses agreements are handled by the career departement. You have the contacts above. We also encourage you to read the docs below as it contains information about the online process.

⚠️Even Polytechnique students should ask the HEC career department, not the Polytechnique one. The schools have agreed to have all operations regarding internships centralized on the HEC side.

Must I do specifically a right arm internship ?

You can do other types of internships. But our experience is that being the right arm of a CEO is one of the best ways to learn about entrepreneurship. As it's kind of a tradition of our program, we're quite known for it and you can have many opportunities of such internship. So no, it's not mandatory but it's highly recommended.

Can I validate my work experience with freelancing ?

No., it is not possible.

*What do you mean by "end of course" HEC students ?

The Master in Management should be done in 4 years max (starting from M1). Therefore, if you have done a double gap year, you're an end of course HEC student. The professional project year count in these 4 years, but not the personal project year.
