SETTING UP YOUR TEACHING FLOW in "Classwork"

Welcome everyone!

Have students open up classroom and join the class meet at the start of school each day. Just like greeting students at the door, it help sets the tone for the day.

Minds On Activity

Start each new learning block with a minds on activity. You might present your screen and have a discussion, or direct students to a post in classroom.

Mini Lesson

Any artifacts that will support the mini lesson can be posted in classroom as a material. You and the students can use the audio from meet as you work through the mini lesson together.

Application

Students can work together in a chat room to discuss their work by text or by starting their own meet. Monitor how students are progressing or work with a small group.

At the end of the period provide students with the opportunity to reflect on their learning, or offer an exit pass to help inform your next day's learning.

Minds On

Consider scheduling Minds on at the beginning of class so it is fresh.

This examples uses the format of "Question" so that students could post their thinking as well as respond to other.

Learning Materials

If you are using videos, slides, docs, sites, or any other items for part of the learning, consider posting it as a "material". It will not show up in the grades section and students will begin to recognize this icon as a resource of learning.

In Class Work

Work that is to be done during class, either individually or as a group, can have a specific time assigned to it's due date. This is helpful if you would like to see the daily progress in order to gather formative assessment date or provide descriptive feedback.

Reflection

Consider assigning asynchronous items, reflections or homework for the end of the day. This means that students can be flexible and take a break from learning, or choose to complete it right away.
