Looking for digital resources to use? Click on the image to explore some general and grade level digital resources. As always, make sure websites shared with students do not have ads or options for in-app purchases. Copy and paste the info into a doc or slides if using it for research and reference the original website (don't hyper link it).

YouTube videos can be used but the link must not be shared directly with students. Videos can be played on the educator's device and presented to the students during synchronous learning time.

You'll also find links to science and technology associations that the board has purchased memberships.

Looking for a way to teach electricity, space, flight, cells, systems in action, body systems, rocks and minerals (and more) virtually? Gizmos might help!

Gizmos are interactive science and math simulations that can help you teach many concepts and ideas that you might be doing with hands-on activities in a physical classroom and help you tackle some more abstract ideas such as food pyramids or moon phases.

Gizmos are easy to use and curriculum aligned. There are many lessons provided in French! Check out the grade 3-8 pages on the Science Resources website for lists of science Gizmos accessible at each grade level.

You can use Gizmos synchronously or asynchronously, with the whole group, in breakout rooms, or independently. Gizmos are also something that students can explore at home with their families if they are looking for something else to do.

If you teach grade 3-8 science or math, or support students learning these subjects and don't have an account set up, click this link to register and complete the form. If you already have an account but it is only a trial version (5 minute access), please email me directly to get your account associated with our HDSB license which extends until the end of the next school year. You can check your access by logging in and going to your account settings.
