As the vendor updates their products, the appearance or location of icons many change or new features may be added. Vendors do not always communicate updates so please visit the tool website or support.google.com for additional support.

Screencastify has been purchased for the 2022 - 2023 school year. To visit your dashboard, visit screencastify.com. You will need to login using your @hdsb email to access the district license.

You will need to accept permissions to make adjustments to your drive, access your mic as well as your webcam in order for the product to record videos which it will store automatically in your drive.

To create a new "assignment" follow the information from Screencastify.

Accessing Screencastify Submit:

From the extension - click the three lines in the upper left hand corner of the extension and look down the menu for Submit.

From the web - navigate to screencastify.com and select "my account". You should see submit as an option.

Student Support for Screencastify!

Screencastify is one of the amazing tools we have in HDSB. It allows students to capture so much more than what voice or writing alone can accomplish in some cases.

We have a signed NDA with the company and so student's data is safe and protected.

Have students add the extension to their chrome profile so they can access it at any time. All users (staff and students) should use their HDSB profile to login.

Student Instructions - Screencastify Submit

Student Support for Screencastify Submit!

Screencastify Submit is a highly secure, easy to use tool that allows eduators to ask a question, provide a prompt, etc. and with the click of a few buttons collect an oral response from a student. It integrates seemlessly with Classroom so no more copying of links. Post directly from Submit.

The slide deck shows students what to expect when assigned a Submit task using a webcam. You can make a copy and post this on Classroom as a material.

Drag & Drop on a Chromebook

To drag and drop using the Chromebook touchpad: Click the item you want to move with one finger. With a second finger, move the item. Release both fingers to drop the item at its new location.
