Add a second MFA sign in method.
Go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup and sign in with your HCC account email address and password. Follow the prompts to use Other ways to sign in, which should allow you to have a code sent to your phone via text.
On the Security Info page, select Add sign-in method and select Authenticator app. Follow the instructions to re-link your Authenticator app.
If you need your MFA sign-in method reset, you will need to come in to Frost 109 or give us a call during working hours so we can do an ID verification.
Be sure to update your information in your Profile in the myHCC Dashboard if you change your personal email address, home address or phone number; the Help Desk cannot change this information and it does not sync from your sign in methods.
Students can find this in: My Student Resources → My Student Profile → Update Bio Information
or contact Student Records
Employees can find this in: Employee Information → Personal Information
or contact Department of People and Talent
In addition to using the Authenticator app, you can add your cell phone number as an additional MFA method.
With both you can still manage your authentication:
If you get a new device but keep your number, you can authenticate with SMS
If you get a new number but keep your device, you can authenticate with Authenticator
Go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup to add a new sign-in method.

Set Up the Authenticator App (If Chosen)
Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from your app store.
Open the app and choose Add Account → Work or School Account.
Scan the QR code displayed on the Microsoft Security Info page.
Set Up Phone (If Chosen)
Enter your phone number as shown.

Verify Your Second Method
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
Test both methods to ensure they work.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your accounts by requiring two forms of verification. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even if someone obtains your password.
Not only is MFA required for your HCC account but we highly recommend it for personal accounts like email, social media, and banking. Protecting your digital life is crucial in today’s online world.
