Invest in a Better Future
Open to all 11th & 12th graders. This directed studies course will focus on investing in the stock market for your retirement, future needs, supplemental funds, or future career. This course will cover budgeting, long term planning (401K, Individual Retirement Accounts), short term investing and taxation of investments.
Throughout the course, students will participate in a stock market simulation. Topics include: risk management (risk to reward ratio), diversification of investments, fundamental and technical analysis, broad market analysis vs. specific industry analysis, and to develop an investment strategy based on trading style. It is recommended that students have taken Finance 1 or concurrently take Finance 1.
