Using imotion, my iPad, and iMovie I created a stop motion video about taking apart a chromebook. I did this because it would be a fun and educational idea. I also had fun in sixth grade taking it apart so I wanted to do it again.
During this process, I learned how to make stop motion videos. I also learned that taking stop motion videos takes a lot of pictures. To make a three minute video I needed 700 pictures.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor. It ties to knowledge constructor because I had very little knowledge of stop motion at the begining, but I watched a video that helped me to understand how to do it. I also looked at some 8th grade projects that people did and that helped me as well. By the end I knew a lot more about stop motion and how it works.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting all 700 pictures done in the time that we had. I was able to do it by getting more pictures done in the last few days. I also had to stay on task more to get a lot of pictures done.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change one of the shots. The reason why I would change it is because it had my hand in one of them. It is not that big of a deal but I would be better if I fixed it.
