7P2-Cardboard Challenge

Using Cardboard, PVC pipes, duct tape, hot glue, and an iPad I created a cardboard Foosball table because I thought it would be a good fun project idea. My partners also thought that it would be a good idea too.  Also I got the idea from google when I searched up some ideas for cardboard projects.

During this process, I learned how to cut PVC pipes. Another thing that I learned during this project is how to be creative and design. Finally, I learned how to construct cardboard into arcade games.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because I came up with an original creative cardboard project. My project also ties to Innovative Designer because I made my own design and how to figure out how big to make my dimensions.

A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out what to use for the rods in the table. I decided to use PVC pipes for the rods. I was able to overcome this challenge by asking my dad for ideas. 

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the goals. The reason why I would change it is because if your hit the ball in the goal it could bounce back out. If this happens the players might not know if it went in or out of the goals.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Construction Trades CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Construction Working. They work on construction projects. My project connects to this trade because I worked on the construction of my cardboard project.
