Planning Question
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
For this project, I will be working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a 3D printer, tinkercad, and an iPad.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I will work on it every day in class and might work on it at home.
What unique qualities will your project have?
I looked at pictures and learned how to make it open its mouth when I put pressure on the middle part.
I worked on my list of ten ideas.
I worked on my planning questions and started working on my shark clip.
I worked more on my shark clip.
I finished my shark clip
I sent the STL to google classroom and worked on the sentence starters.
Using Tinkercad, my computer, and an iPad I created a Shark Clip because I was looking at useful 3D print ideas and the shark clip showed up. I also wanted to do it because it would be challenging because you had to make the clip flexible. I made it so I can have a clip to put on my bags so the stuff inside doesn't go stale.
During this process, I learned how to use Tinkercad and how to make holes in your designs. I learned how to export an STL to google classroom. I watched one of the videos on Mr.Renner.com to figure out how to do it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I had some knowledge of how to use Tinkercad at the start and I watched tutorials to figure out how to use it. Toward the end, I learned how to use Tinkercad and how to use the settings and buttons.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to make the shark clip move when you put pressure on the middle part. I was able to do it by looking at more pictures on Google. The pictures with different angles helped me to figure out how it was able to move.
Given a chance to do this again, I would make the shark clip open its mouth more. The reason why I would change it is because it will be able to hold bigger things closed. I would just have to make the slot bigger.
